Founded in 2005, MB&F is the world’s first-ever horological concept laboratory. With almost 20 calibers forming the base of the critically acclaimed Horological and Legacy Machines, MB&F is continuing to follow Founder and Creative Director Maximilian Büsser’s vision of creating 3-D kinetic art by deconstructing traditional watchmaking.

And calling all MB&F enthusiasts, the brand has is marking its 10th anniversary by auctioning one of the initial Legacy Machine No.1 (LM1) prototypes. A true one-of-a-kind timepiece, it celebrates the debut LM1 series, which was first showcased in 2011. The end of the series was announced in 2017 with a Final Edition of 18 pieces, giving the MB&F team the time to look into other creative horological avenues.

As expected, all the LM1 editions have been sold, and so, the only way to commemorate this milestone was to auction off one of the original prototypes. A special piece indeed, it’s woven into the heritage of the brand and is also a rare occurrence as MB&F rarely produces Pièces Uniques, making the ones that exist highly sought-after pieces.

The LM1 “Longhorn” follows on from the HM4 Thunderbolt prototype (it was sold to an avid collector in a private sale), and to make this second prototype sale fairer for all of those MB&F devotees, its founder Maximilian Büsser has announced that it’ll be auctioned on the 7 November in Geneva by Phillips in Association with Bacs & Russo. And even better, a large portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Save The Rhino International charity. Be sure to put the date in your diary for your chance to acquire a thoroughly unique, heritage timepiece. MB&F Legacy Machine No. 1 Longhorn timepiece
