DJI Mavic Pro
DJI Mavic Pro You get what you pay for! This is worth it! May seem pricey to some however it is smooth, reliable, quality! Definitely recommend for a medium or above experienced Flyer. Due to the gimbal, the Mavic is slightly more delicate than the predecessors however it makes up for it with superior handling and safety features.

DJI Mavic Air
While expensive, it will do all you want it to and more.
All the onboard features work fabulously, and obstacle avoidance is very effective. However, the APAS is still a little slow, don’t rely on it too much. However, battery life is good, as well as camera quality and range. Be prepared for a day’s flying, however, few issues with compass calibrations, and the DJI app needing a sign in to activate. Just prepare in advance, and everything will go well.
Pros: Excellent high altitude, very fast, high-quality video/pictures, and small.
Cons: App could be easier to use, better APAS, flying modes difficult (not impossible) to use.
TIPS FOR BETTER DRONE FOOTAGE
Fly straighter – Skip the fancy moves, unless you are really good at them. Complex multi-direction shots will not look as good as a nice straight steady shot unless you get them perfect. If you want something more interesting try a programmed orbit.
Use the Intelligent flight Modes – The new drones have many autonomous features before you travel takeS time to learn how to use these features for some amazing drone footage when you travel. Point of interest orbits and active track are some of my favorites to use and they are pretty easy to figure out as well.
DRONE LAWS WHILE TRAVELING
Drone Laws around the world are always changing. You need to do your own research for the specific country you are traveling to. This should not be the only resource you look at for Drone law information.
- Don’t fly above 400 feet / 120 meters
- 5 miles/9km in any direction of an airport is a no-fly zone
- Must maintain a line of sight with the drone while flying
- Don’t fly within 300 feet / 100 meters of buildings
- Don’t fly near or above crowds
- Don’t fly in close proximity to residential buildings
