Can you tell us a little about the process?

If you are a first timer to a smoothing treatment, which would you recommend?
There are many different kinds of treatment on the market. Some very mild which will last only 10 washes, such ad the Discipline Smoothing Treatment by Kerastase. Some will reduce curl, some will simply reduce frizz. Speak to your hairdresser to find the correct treatment for you. How long does it last, and what length of time would you recommend before having the next session?
The treatment will typically last 1 – 6 months. This depends on the treatment type selected, how often you wash your hair and also the type of shampoo and styling products you are using. A good sulfate free shampoo is best. Specific shampoos and conditioners are supplied by each of the brands that promise to maintain the effects of your treatment longer than using a typical supermarket shampoo.
What are your tips for making the treatment last longer?
Use the prescribed shampoo and conditioner and wash your hair 2 – 3 times a week rather than every day.
Top tip – use a specialist shampoo which is sulfate free to maintain the effects of the treatment, such as Nano Keratin and Inoar Brazilian Blow Dry products.
