For Mejuri, that familiar gesture has become the foundation of Interconnected, a new 20-piece fine-jewelry collection that translates the loose, intersecting strokes of a handwritten “xo” into rings, earrings, necklaces, charms and cuffs.
The idea is simple, but the execution is more considered than sentimental.
Rather than rendering the motif literally, Mejuri’s in-house design team focused on the movement of the lines themselves: forms overlap, curves meet, and diamonds appear precisely where one element intersects another. The result is jewelry that feels graphic and sculptural, but still intimate enough for everyday wear.
The collection evolves from two existing signatures, the Pavé Diamond X Stud and Mejuri’s bestselling X hoops, and expands that visual language across a broader range of pieces. Smooth, polished surfaces give the designs a tactile quality, while the crossing forms create an immediate sense of motion.
“We didn’t want a symbol of connection; we wanted the connection itself, drawn in gold and in diamonds,” says Mejuri founder and CEO Noura Sakkijha. “Strokes intersect, forms overlap, and diamonds light up the exact place where two lines meet.”
That detail becomes one of the collection’s most interesting ideas. Diamonds are often placed at the point of intersection, but not always in the most obvious position. On some earrings, a stone appears from behind the earlobe. On certain rings, it sits discreetly to one side rather than facing outward.
The effect is deliberately subtle.
“Not every connection in our lives is out in the open,” Sakkijha adds. “Some hold us up quietly, and I wanted those in the collection too.”

Among the collection’s key pieces are hand-drawn letter charms based on a custom typeface, extending the idea of personal expression beyond the “xo” itself. An adjustable lariat necklace introduces another functional note. A silicone slider allows the wearer to alter its length, making the piece adaptable to different necklines and layering combinations. Against the cool tone of the metal, the stones feel sharper and less expected than traditional white diamonds. They bring contrast to the collection’s otherwise soft language of connection, giving the pieces a slightly more graphic, contemporary edge.
